Portwell unveils Three New KUBER Embedded PCs – Fan-less, 14 nm Intel Atom, 30% More Compute, 45% Better Graphics

Portwell, through its subsidiary Mitwell, today announced the addition of three new members to the KUBER Box PC series. These compact, fan-less embedded systems continue to leverage the latest 14 nm Intel Atom (Apollo Lake) platform, delivering higher performance in an ultra-rugged form factor.

Common Specs

Each KUBER model is built around the Intel Celeron N3350 processor, paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4-2400 memory. For environments that demand extreme temperature tolerance, the lineup can optionally feature the Intel E3930, offering comparable performance but a 110 °C Tjunction, ensuring reliable operation from –40 °C to +70 °C.

Compared to the previous generation, the new KUBER PCs provide roughly 30% more computing power and 45% greater graphics performance, thanks to the Intel Gen9 graphics core with up to 18 execution units. The graphics subsystem supports 4K displays via DisplayPort, making these units ideal for high-resolution visualization tasks.

Power und Connectivity

The fan-less design keeps the Thermal Design Power below 10 W (depending on configuration) and supports a flexible 12–30 VDC ±20% power supply, meeting the needs of demanding industrial applications.

Industrial connectivity is fully supported with two Gigabit Industrial Ethernet ports (Intel i210) and two USB 3.0 ports. Storage options include 32 GB (expandable to 256 GB) of integrated eMMC, plus an M.2 Key-E (2230) slot for Wi-Fi or other modules.

Standards und Software

All three models share the same rugged chassis, measuring 99 × 63 × 92 mm, and meet stringent EMI/EMS standards such as EN 61000-6-4, EN 61000-6-2, IEC 61000-4-4, 4-6, and 4-8. This certification makes the KUBER series well-suited for plant networking, process monitoring, environmental management, and process visualization.

Software flexibility is supported by Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and three Linux distributions (Yocto, Debian, Ubuntu). The eAPI, combined with SGeT's Universal IoT Connector (UIC) and Microsoft Azure integration, offers seamless connectivity for a wide range of IoT deployments.
